Synopsis: In the devastated remains of the world, millions of people live in "refugee" camps provided by the angels who have all but enslaved humanity. As this angelic stranglehold tightens, Willow and Alex are recruiting and training new Angel Killers while struggling to hold ground on the celestial battlefield. But Willow continues to have feelings for Seb, and her love and resolve are tested as a shattering revelation sends Alex on a separate journey. Now that the final battle versus the angels is about to begin-and the fate of the world hangs in the balance-each of them must face the consequences of their own choices. Will love endure? Will the human race survive?
Review: 5 stars - The eagerly anticipated third and final book in the Angel Trilogy; Angel Fever is everything I wished it could be. I have owned the kindle e-book and paperback since the release date back in August but I couldn’t bring myself to read it until now, as I didn’t want the series to end.
I will advise readers of this review that it contains spoilers for the previous books- Angel and Angel Fire.
After a dramatic end of Angel Fire the second book in the trilogy. Angel Fever starts as the world is in ruin, the Angels seem to have had their forces depleted but we know that the battle is not yet won. Alex, and half angels Willow and Seb must do everything in their power to help bring about the demise of the angels once and for all.
With the after effects of war still present, Alex, Willow and Seb go to ground. While the outside world is still under the control of the angels, they recruit survivors. Building an army of Angel Killers and slowly planning their attack on the angels.
When a revelation from a surprise visitor sends Alex on a solo mission, he doesn’t realise the consequences will be life changing for Willow. Only true inner strength will help them put a definite end to the war of angels vs. humanity.
Angel Fever is a journey for both the characters and reader of heartbreak, revenge, happiness and love; to an unexpected emotional ending and a surety that Seb, Alex and especially Willow that weird psychic girl from Pawntucket will always hold a special place in the reader’s heart.
I have been lucky enough to meet L.A. Weatherly a few times over the last couple of years, when speaking about the series you can tell how passionate she is about her characters. This shows in her writing. Alex and Willow have been with L.A. as a writer for years- she wanted to give them a definite ending which is achieved in Angel Fever.
With some highly likeable characters introduced in Angel Fever; this new group of survivors only helps enhance the story. And with a few old faces reappearing, Angel Fever concludes their story; even the ‘background’ characters in the Angel trilogy are ones that you find yourself caring about.
One bit of advice to any reader of Angel Fever- make sure you have Kleenex to hand! They’re going to be needed!
I can’t say much more than that, without some big spoilers and telling you the whole plot line. If you read the Angel series, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Oh now that last bit has me worried!! Tissue! Why do I need tissues?! Now I'm scared! And yet, still eager to read this one! I enjoyed the first two Angel books and already have this one preordered for when it releases later this month in the USA. Looking forward to how it all ends...and why I possibly might need tissues. Great review!
