Today is day Two of my part in the Blog Tour celebrating the release of Purpose! And this is an exciting post as well. I was lucky to have been granted an interview with Tristan and Alexis... it's the second part of an interview which you can check out the first part over at my blogging BFF's - Jessica from Confessions of a Bookaholic - just Follow this link!

Also, so everyone's clear - this interview took place a while back - soon after Tristan and Alexis were married... so this happened before Purpose. So, there's NO SPOILERS! It's completely SPOILER FREE!

And here is part Two of the Interview..... Enjoy!

Alexis, Have you ever thought about writing your personal story to share with everyone?

Alexis (with a sly smile): Who says I’m not?

What are the biggest challenges you both face right now?

Alexis: Staying out of the bedroom

Tristan (snorts, spews his drink, spraying everywhere): Did you really just say that?!?

Alexis (shrugs): Well, it is a challenge. And much more fun to think about than the others…like staying alive, staying together, being human…at least for me…

Tristan (grins): That’s what I’m talking about.

Does the difference in age bother you anymore? Does it ever come up?

Tristan: Age is irrelevant.

Alexis: I agree. Besides, in many ways, we are about the same age.

What did each of you do last night?

Tristan (lifts an eyebrow): Need you ask?

Alexis: We are newlyweds…

Can you both describe what your perfect day would be?

Alexis: Ahh…a motorcycle ride to the beach…fixing dinner together…watching the sunset…all with no threats looming over our heads

Tristan: Agreed.

Alexis: You don’t have your own perfect day? You don’t have anything to add?

Tristan: Your perfect day is mine. All I need is you. (winks)

Alexis (eyes glaze over…then clear): You’re too much. Come on. There has to be something you’d at least do differently or add or something.

Tristan: Well, yes, I could add something, but it’s pretty obvious with the way the rest of this conversation has gone.

Is it hard always looking over your shoulder for danger, how do you cope?

Alexis: Ugh. I don’t cope. I’m always on edge, feeling like there’s this heavy blanket of doom wrapped around me, trying to suffocate me. I can’t remember what it feels like to breathe normally.

Tristan (shrugs): I’ve been dealing with it for years. As long as Alexis doesn’t do anything stupid, she’s protected. We both are. It’d be a pretty intense battle if they even try anything, so why would they? They know they’d lose.

Alexis: But who would we lose in the meantime?

Tristan: You worry too much. Have faith.

Alexis (sighs and shakes her head): Sorry for being so human.

Do you have any nice plans for the holidays?

Alexis: We’ll carry on Mom’s traditions – bake birthday cakes and deliver them to the shelters and nursing homes, then seek out random acts of kindness.

Tristan: It is a fun way to celebrate Christmas. We’ll definitely continue those traditions as long as we can. It’s good for the soul, too. More people should try it.

What are some of the wishes you have for yourselves and each other as your relationship progresses?

Tristan: I hope that regardless of what challenges we face, we can hang onto our faith, trust and hope in each other.

Alexis: Yes, and that our bond remains too strong for anyone or anything to break it, including distance or time. And that my mind always goes foggy when he winks at me.

Here are some quick questions you both can answer.

Day or Night?

Tristan: Day

Alexis: Night

Tristan: Really?

Alexis: Yeah…that’s when we get to be alone.

Favorite Foods?

Alexis: Chocolate croissants

Tristan: Pretty much everything. I’m not picky.

Alexis: He’s not kidding, either.

Chocolate or Vanilla?

Both: Chocolate

Tristan: But I like cherry, too. (grins)

Favorite book of all time?

Alexis: Hmm…classics, probably Dracula…though I do like Poe, too, but mostly his short stories. Contemporary…too many to say. Can I say my own? It’s not published yet, but it will be soon.

Tristan: I think I’ll stick with the safe answer – Alexis’s book. (whispers) Moby Dick and Crime and Punishment

Favorite color?

Alexis: Purple

Tristan: All – every color is beautiful in its own way

Place you'd love to visit?

Alexis: Australia, Paris, London, Africa…just about anywhere outside the U.S. I’ve lived almost everywhere here, but haven’t been anywhere else.

Tristan: I have been just about everywhere, but I’d go anywhere again with Alexis.

Cake or pie?

Alexis: Cake

Tristan: Muffins…or pie

Favorite song?

Tristan: Pretty much anything by Nirvana

Alexis: Dreams by the Cranberries

Books or TV?

Both: Books

Coke or Pepsi?

Alexis: Diet Coke

Tristan: Neither…they’re nothing like they used to be.

Comedies or Horror movies?

Alexis: Horror, but I do like a good laugh

Tristan: Comedies, definitely

Tristan, Boxers or Briefs?  And Alexis, which do you prefer on Tristan?

Tristan: Boxers, unless I’m working out, then boxer-briefs

Alexis: Boxer-briefs – they’re nice and tight in the right places, but not in an icky Speedo way

Night out or night at home?

Both: Home

Real Christmas tree or fake?

Both: Real

Tristan: Always keep it real.

Thank you both so much for stopping by and answering all these questions for us, we've had a great time getting to know you both a little better.

Alexis: Thank you so much for having us! I’m sorry Tristan couldn’t behave himself—

Tristan: And you did?

Alexis (sheepish smile): Okay, I apologize for both of us getting a little…uh…out of hand. I’m sure it’s just this newlywed thing. It’ll wear off.

Tristan: I hope not.

Alexis: Yeah, me, too. (sighs) Anyway, we really appreciate your hospitality. You have a really nice blog here. The other one was nice, too. (looks around) Wow! Look at all those friends you have! Well, I’m not surprised. You’re so nice. So is Jess. You two have been really great for letting us spend so much time with you and all your friends.

Tristan: Yes, thank you. Can you tell Jess thanks for us, too?

Oh, no need to thank us, we had a great time too! I'll be sure to pass along your message to Jess.
