Order here: Amazon, Barnes and Noble

Synopsis: For small-town rebel Dani Webber magic and monsters are no more real than the Easter Bunny… until the day she accidentally stops time. Dani quickly discovers that not only do supernaturals exist, but she herself is one of them. This is great news for her life-long best friend Russ, who can finally come clean about his own supernatural status and his undying love for her. Before the two can start to enjoy the long overdue relationship, Dani is taken by a powerful council of supernaturals who believe she is the Chosen One destined to save them from extinction.

As if being kidnapped and expected to save the world isn't bad enough, an ancient prophecy warns of the Chosen One’s dark nature: “Only the truest love will keep her an agent for good.” The council believes they know who this “true love” is and, unfortunately, that person isn't Russ. The mysterious, powerful and devastatingly handsome Seer is the last person Dani wants in her life, but when she starts having visions of a horrific future, she has no one else to turn to for help.

Soon Dani finds herself torn between two very different boys with two very different opinions of whom she can trust. With the visions getting worse and time running out, Dani is forced to put aside her feelings and work with both the Seer and Russ before an ancient evil is unleashed upon the earth.

Excerpt:

“Yes child,” the Supreme High Councilor said. His temper had calmed and he smiled again, but the smile was unsettling. “You do not understand your own power and you haven’t learned to control it. You know nothing of this world or your destiny yet.”
           “I don’t believe in destiny!”
I couldn't help glancing at Gabriel then, and he figured out my secret. “You didn't see me,” he said. “You saw us.”
           The room fell into silence.
The Supreme High Councilor squatted down to my level. “Is that true?” His anger was gone and for some reason he looked very excited by the Seer’s suggestion. He waited but the only answer he got from me was an offer for him to kiss my ass.
He stood again with a sigh. “My, but she’s a spirited little thing. I suppose that’s necessary if she’s to fulfill the prophecy.”
“I can never see my own fate,” Gabriel said to the Supreme High Councilor. “If my fate is tied to hers it would explain why I could not see her future.”
“Yes,” the Supreme High Councilor said. “Of course. Of course. Power attracts power and you are both pure. A perfect match.”
Gabriel stood in front of me again. The move was not antagonistic. He didn't mean to make me feel inferior the way the Supreme High Councilor did. “Did you see us together?” he asked. “Is there a connection between us? Is that why you are afraid to tell us what you saw?”
He knelt down in front of me and gazed into my eyes with something like hope. It frightened me. “No,” I whispered and then looked at my lap.
I felt a hand come down on mine and I changed form. When I looked up, Alistair was smiling down at me. “Are you sure, my lady?” he asked. “That it was not you and the Seer together that you saw?”
I opened my mouth to deny it again and my voice caught in my throat. The words could not escape me. The more I tried to speak the more I felt my lungs seize up and it was painful.
When I started panicking Alistair asked, “Is there a problem?”
‘Yes!” I screamed and then stopped, surprised that the word flowed from my mouth. “How come I couldn't speak before?”
Alistair smiled again. “At the moment you posses the traits of the Sidhe.”
           “Sidhe?”
           “Creatures of Faery.”
           “You’re a faery?” I gasped.
“Indeed, my lady. And as such, I am physically incapable of telling a falsehood.”
           “Faeries can’t lie?”
“I’m afraid not. So tell us again, did you glimpse a future in which you and the Seer shared one fate?”
Stubbornly I stayed silent, but I knew that was the same as an admission.
The Seer pulled my chin up to look into my eyes. Energy flared through me from his soft fingertips. “Do not be afraid of the visions,” he told me. “They come from the Creator and have only ever brought about good.”
My voice was a lot shakier than I cared for when I asked, “Do they always come true?”
“Yes,” Gabriel admitted. “Unless we interfere. If you know the future, Danielle, you have the power to change it. As a seer, what you must decide is whether or not you should.”
I couldn't bear to look at him any longer when I could still feel the effect of his kiss from my vision. I jerked my face from his grasp.
He rose to his feet again and spoke to the Councilor. “There is one thing I do not understand. How was she able to see this vision when a seer cannot ever glimpse their own fate?”
“As a warlock she casts spells without incantations,” Constance said. “As a werewolf she defeated a male second without any prior training, without even understanding what was happening to her. Perhaps she is even more powerful than you.”
“More powerful than the Seer?” Robert muttered.
He went to stand next to the Supreme High Councilor and whispered, “Think of the possibilities, Councilor. We have much to discuss here.”
The two of them looked me over, considering. Their eagerness made me sick. If my hands weren't bound to my chair I’d have given them both the finger.

Title: By Referral Only (Whitman University, #2)

Check out my Review of: Broken At Love (Whitman University, #1)

NOTE: This is a "New Adult" novel. Due to mature content this title is recommended for ages 17+

Synopsis: After being unceremoniously dumped freshman year because of her family’s “new money” status, Ruby Cotton has taken care not to put her heart on the line. No matter how enticing Emilie and Quinn make it look, relationships are scary and hard—while a string of flings is easy and fun. That’s what Ruby wants. Easy and fun. The only problem is, when it comes to satisfaction in the sack, most of the boys at Whitman are nothing but pretty window dressing and false advertising.

Ruby takes it upon herself to make campus life more fulfilling, creating a referral database that allows female students to rate their sexual experiences, thereby informing girls of what they’re getting into before agreeing to a date.

When her acting partner, Liam Greene, finally shows some interest, Ruby figures she won’t need to utilize the helpful gossip. He’s handsome, fun, and most importantly, not a guy she’d ever fall for hard enough to let him break her heart.

Not only that, but dating Liam gives Ruby the perfect excuse to say no to Cole Stuart.

As a star swimmer and heir to honest-to-God Scottish royalty, Cole sits at the top of Whitman’s A-list—but he’s also the lowest rated referral on Ruby’s website. The ratings make rejecting his repeated requests for a date a no-brainer, but her real reason for avoiding Cole runs deeper than a string of unsatisfied exes.

He’s gorgeous, he oozes sweetness and charm, and the electricity between them could power half of Whitman, but Ruby knows it will only last until his family or friends convince him she’s not good enough.

Before she knows it she’s falling anyway, waiting for the other shoe to drop but clinging to a tentative hope that Cole might be as different as he seems. When the secret behind his low ratings comes to light, that hope is torn apart, and Ruby wonders if she was right to give him her heart…and whether she has the strength to let him keep it.

Excerpt:

“You know what’s sad, is that I have a better story than that,” Ginny interrupted, rescuing her roommate from yet another lecture from me about the follies of saving herself for a someday guy who would not fucking appreciate it.

“I do not see how that’s possible. I just made out with a twenty-one-year old guy whose penis doesn’t work.”

“Hear me out. Freshman year I was having sex with this guy and he quit in the middle. Like, didn’t finish, just stopped, said he was really hungry, put his clothes on, and left.”

“That is an unprecedented turn of events,” Larissa mused. “Did you hear from him again?”

“He texted to tell me some dumbass story about the person in line in front of him at Taco Bell, but other than that, nope.” Ginny pulled her long, dark brown hair into a bun. “Like, what is that? He didn’t even finish.”

“And it goes without saying that you didn’t either,” I observed dryly.

Larissa snorted. “You do not even want to know how long it’s been since a guy coaxed an orgasm out of me. You’d think it was easier to wrestle a Coachella invite away from a Kappa.”

“Where did you find this loser?” I wanted to make sure and steer clear, not that I hadn’t managed to find plenty of dick nuggets at Whitman on my own. Guys who slobbered, or came before I could even think about it, or thought it was cute to sneak out before dawn.

“Frat party. Seemed totally normal until he ditched sex for fast food at one in the morning.”

If I really thought about it, none of this seemed all that funny. Emilie and Quinn apparently had some kind of mind-blowing sexual connection that I needed to hire Gandalf to find. Guys had it so easy; they needed somewhere to stick it for five minutes and they got off, went home, and bragged to their friends over cheap beer or whatever. I would bet my mother’s entire fitness empire that they weren’t sitting around the frat house whining about how disappointing any of us were in bed.

“I ran into Chaney doing the walk of shame a few minutes ago, and she looked like she’d been through a horror show at the hands of that Scottish Lambda Phi she’s been out with a few times.”

“Cole Stuart?” Ginny nodded. “He’s hot, and that accent makes my panties just evaporate into thin air, but it seems like I’ve heard other girls complain, too.”

Girls knew all the dirty secrets. If campus relationships were a stage production, we were definitely in charge of casting. We should be auditioning these idiots, or at least asking for resumes. “Life would be so much easier if guys had to wear nametags with their shortcomings printed on them so we all knew what we were getting into.”

They all laughed at my suggestion, trying to one-up each other adding to my stupid idea.

“Fucks like a rabbit.”

“Doesn’t go down.”

“Nipple abuser.”

“Slobbers in ears.”

Ginny shrieked. “That sounds like a Native American name!”

The potential monikers grew sillier until none of us could talk over the sound of our laughter, only Brooke sitting quietly, gaping at us in horror. Clearly, the guys at Whitman were totally slacking in the bedroom pleasure department, probably because they were all rich and mostly good-looking, which meant they’d never had to work for it. I, for one, wasn’t interested in increasing my number or saying another twelve Hail Marys without some kind of assurance.

That thought gave me an idea. It might have been as stupid as the nametags, but this one didn’t require a method for tackling boys and forcibly attaching stickers bearing their relationship failings. No one knew what belonged on those tags better than the girls who had been forced to endure their sloppy advances, and if I knew one thing about girls, it was that they loved gossip.

If flings were what I had to look forward to, why not expect them to be decent?

I said goodnight and wandered across the hall to my room, gears grinding in my brain as I brushed my teeth and slipped into my pajamas. The best approach seemed to be going with what I knew, which meant starting where I started every time an audition announcement went up for a new production, either in the school theatre or community—a résumé. Complete with referrals.

Lyla Payne Bio:

I’ve long had a love of stories. A few years ago decided to put them down on the page, and even though I have a degree in film and television, novels were the creative outlet where I found a home. I’ve published Young Adult under a different name, but when I got the idea for Broken at Love (my first New Adult title), I couldn’t wait to try something new – and I’m hooked.  In my spare time I watch a ton of tennis (no surprise, there), play a ton of tennis, and dedicate a good portion of brain power to dreaming up the next fictitious bad boy we’d all love to meet in real life.

Hi everyone! As I've mentioned a few times.. I'm the NA Crush Tourney Advocate for Tristan Knight from the Soul Saver Series. The voting for TRISTAN'S SECOND ROUND HAS JUST STARTED!!!! Thanks to everyone who voted in the first round, I'm going to ask each of you again to cast a vote for the Tourney underdog! I can't do this alone, we're asking for your help in votes!! Let's help push Tristan on into round THREE!!!

Here's my advocate post from the first round, in case you haven't seen it. Take a look and then click the link at the end of the page to VOTE FOR TRISTAN TODAY!!!

A bit about me - I read as much as I can, I swoon over book boys often and I try my best to let everyone know when I've found a book, character and author they shouldn't miss! Besides reading (Strange to say that, right?) it’s all about family, friends, and probably too much TV and movies, but enough about me, how about we get down to why I’m here today?

I was beyond excited to have been chosen as advocate for one of my FAVORITE lead male characters Tristan Knight from the Soul Saver Series by author Kristie Cook!! For those who know who he is, scroll on down to the bottom of this post and hit the VOTE FOR TRISTAN button. And those of you who haven’t found this amazing character yet, read on, you have NO idea what you've been missing.

How about some info to give you a good picture of the man himself? "6'3", panty-melting body harnessing every power his creators could give him, he's the most dangerous creature on earth. And he'll literally give you his heart. What more could you ask for in a book boyfriend?" I know right?

Some physical features to help round out this beautiful warrior

Sandy brown hair, hazel eyes with a wide band of emerald and gold sparkles.

"It wasn't right for a guy to be so incredibly attractive. Besides how tall he stood—towering at least a foot over my five-two—I noticed his hazel eyes first. They pulled me into their staggering beauty, with a wide ring of emerald green on the outside of the irises and brown around the pupils with gold specks that seemed to . . . sparkle. They were fringed with such long, dark lashes that it was unfair they were on a guy. His facial features were flawless—a square jaw, full lips and a golden suntan—better than any movie star or model. Sandy brown hair, longer on top and streaked by the sun, topped off his perfection. And then he smiled magnificently and the gold flecks in his eyes sparkled brighter, like when the sun hits gold flakes in a mining pan." - (Promise)

He's not all brawn, but he has brains, too. He speaks 7 languages, is a math guru and an amazing artist - he brings those together with his interest in architecture. He even designed his own home.

“I’m Tristan . . . in case you didn't catch it.” - (Promise)

I have proof that he's beautiful on the inside too.

He’s fiercely protective of those he cares about and loves –

“I’ll fight for you until the end of my days.” - (Promise)

He’s sexy and flirtatious –

“I showed you mine. Will you show me yours?” - (Promise)

He’s utterly romantic –

"Without your love, without you in my life, I am nothing but darkness.” – (Promise)

He knows how to love as fierce as he fights –

"I will take care of you, honor and protect you, for as long as I live, into eternity. I lay down my life for you, Alexis, my friend and my love. Today I give to you, me.” – (Promise)

Prepare to swoon ladies -

“I couldn't wait for people to see you in that dress. Because you are with me. Forever.” He leaned closer, his lips tickling my ear. “At least let me enjoy it now, because I will have you out of that dress soon enough.” - (Promise)

The thing about this ultimate alpha male is that with all the amazing things about him, he also a motorcycle riding bad boy that lurks just underneath the surface. Tender when he needs to be to all who are in need and watch out for his temper to all who hurt anyone in need or who can't defend themselves.

What more could any person want when it comes to a swoon-able book boy? Well, there’s more so keep reading.

Tristan was created to be the perfect warrior. He’s survived more than most could, he’s changed and he has literally cut out a part of his heart to give to the one that he loves.

It’s his loyalty, commitment, love, strength, inside and out that gives the x factor of book crush characters.

Now, don’t just take my word for it, check out the video below for some of his long time fans -

See! I told you guys!

But wait... there's still MORE about Tristan that I have to tell you about AND SHOW YOU!!!

Tristan can be a bit on the dark and mysterious side. Watching the Trailer for Promise, the first book in the Soul Saver Series (Pssst! The eBook is free on ALL platforms right now!) you'll be able to find out more about him and the beginning of his journey. Take a look, I mean wow... SEXY!!!

These are just some of the things I love about Tristan. And I hope after reading this post, watching the videos that you'll vote for him so he makes it onto the second round!!!

And WHEN he makes it into ROUND THREE... we'll ALL get some more to swoon about! Check out what we'll win, when HE WINS! Right from Kristie herself -

"For each round he wins, Kristie has some special scenes written from Tristan's POV, and if he wins the whole thing – she'll let Tristan tell the story of their wedding night."

And here's some parting words from the man himself....

“Well . . . I didn't get to say a proper good-bye and I couldn't sleep without this.” He bent over and brushed his lips across mine. Then he smiled and winked. I stared at him, dazed. “Okay, better. I can sleep now. Good night.” (Promise)
