Synopsis: He never wanted to be a hero…until she needed him to be.

It took Kennedy Moore years to put her life back together after Reese Spencer shattered it.  But she did.  Now, years later, strong and independent, she is in pursuit of a single dream—to dance with the Altman American Dance Theater.  Unfortunately, Kennedy is learning that a girl from nowhere with no money and no contacts might never be able to reach her goal.

That is, until Reese reappears, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Kennedy just can’t refuse.  In exchange for working on his yacht for a few short weeks, he’ll get her an audition with the famous dance troupe.  All Kennedy has to do is keep her head down, work hard and resist Reese.  That sounds easy enough, right?

Reese doesn’t want to make it easy for Kennedy.  Seeing her again has started a fire in his blood—an unwelcome one.  It took him years to forget about her before, so this time he has a plan.  It’s simple:  Get Kennedy on his yacht, seduce her, get her out of his system, move on with his life.  That sounds easy enough, right?

But the one thing Reese didn’t plan for was Kennedy herself—a girl so strong yet so broken, she makes him want to rescue her, to take care of her.  To save her.  Even if he has to save her from himself.

Review:  4.5 Stars - All the Pretty Poses is the second title in author M. Leightons Pretty series. This author is without a doubt one of my favorites. She writes it, I’ll read it and this title is another home run!

One thing about Michelle’s novels is her characters. She writes characters that have layer upon layer to them. They are always 3 dimensional and extremely real. You know that at the beginning of the book her characters are going to be dealing with issues, dealing with past choices or mistakes, etc. Throughout the journey the reader follows along as the characters find their footing; come to terms with their past and face issues in their present. All the Pretty Poses is no exception to Michelle’s fabulous characters that are brought to life in her writing.

For me I enjoy watching damaged character grow and change and in this title we get to peek in on Kennedy and Reese. They have a past, they have secrets and they have more than their fair share of issues. They knew each other when they were younger so meeting when their lives are so different from what they once were takes these two on a doozy of a ride.

Kennedy wants to dance. Plain and simple, she just wants to dance; it’s what makes her happy it’s what she wants to do in life. Reese is without a doubt driven. He is successful and has made a name for himself. He never wanted to be like his father but we all know how times that works out. The two are damaged and have a lot to heal from. Sadly for these two the worst is yet to come.

For those who have read the first title in the Pretty series – All the Pretty Lies, Reece is Hemi’s brother and yes, while this title is about Reece and Kennedy there is a couple of quick moments where we get a chance to catch up with Hemi and if anyone else is like I am I was clinging on to each and every Hemi morsel that Michelle gave us. I know I’d love more Hemi, anyone else with me on that?

Another thing you can always count on with Michelle is how smooth the story flows. It’s her writing and the plot that lets readers get lost in her characters and the world she’s created for them and before you know it the book is finished and you don’t even miss the time you’ve lost because you were that absorbed and usually aren’t ready to say goodbye.

In the end there’s a lot to love about this title. You’re heart will be tugged on, there might even be some shed tears with plenty of Alpha male swoon-able moments in between. I can’t seem to get enough of Michelle’s characters and I’m more than looking forward to see what wonderful she brings to us next. I highly recommend all of Michelle’s titles, including this one.
