Kendare is scared of.....

I'm scared of spiders. When they're outside, I got no beef. Inside, sudden beef.

I am scared of spiders because:

1. They can jump. They should not be allowed to do this. They should only gambol about and tug on your pant leg politely if they want to talk to you.

2. All the eyes. You're spiders. You don't need that many eyes. What are you using them for? Navy Seals have to be aware of everything and they've only got two.

3. The blood drinking. I don't know why. I mean, mosquito's do it, and they're not scary. But spiders seem to...like it more.

4. Because they are spiders. This is a silly question.

Title: Girl of Nightmares (Anna, #2)
Author: Kendare Blake
Publisher: Tor Teen, 332 Pages (August 7th, 2012)
Add to: Goodreads

Synopsis: It’s been months since the ghost of Anna Korlov opened a door to Hell in her basement and disappeared into it, but ghost-hunter Cas Lowood can’t move on.

His friends remind him that Anna sacrificed herself so that Cas could live—not walk around half dead. He knows they’re right, but in Cas’s eyes, no living girl he meets can compare to the dead girl he fell in love with.

Now he’s seeing Anna everywhere: sometimes when he’s asleep and sometimes in waking nightmares. But something is very wrong... these aren’t just daydreams. Anna seems tortured, torn apart in new and ever more gruesome ways every time she appears.

Cas doesn’t know what happened to Anna when she disappeared into Hell, but he knows she doesn’t deserve whatever is happening to her now. Anna saved Cas more than once, and it’s time for him to return the favor.

  1. I agree with Kendare, spiders are way too creepy, but if they'd just stay outdoors and out of my way, I'd have no beef with them. :D

  4. Im terrified of spiders too! I hate them! I once found a spider as big as a tarantula in my basement! It was so scary. We had to call a neighbor kid over to come get it. The thing filled the bottom of a large coffee can. So scary! It jumped and spat too! *shudder*

  8. I think it's interesting that Kendare is scared of spiders! I am too - they are so gross and creepy. I'm pretty sure they have a plan to eat me when I'm least expecting it. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  10. I agree with Kendare, spiders are totally icky. Walking through a spider web is the very worst, because you always feel like the spider is on you somewhere.

  13. I read Anna Dressed in Blood when I was on vacation last month and finished it in less than two days. I fell in love with Anna and want to read more of her story!

As for spiders, I live in FL, so I have no choice but to live with them. In fact, there is one that lives in my mailbox. I just let it be and we are both happy that way.

  18. I don't have a love for spiders. If they are in the house they must be destroyed, preferably by my husband. Outside I let them be, unless they try to crawl on me. The treaty is broken and they need to be off me regardless if their life is forfeit or not.

  24. I am definitely not a spider person. I found one in my room once and managed to kill it, but I still slept downstairs that night. Yuck!

  25. I love Anna! And I'm actually not scared of spiders :D But ghosts do scare me a little...

  26. I just commented on a post on another blog asking if we believe in ghosts and would we want to be visited by one. I said yes, I definitely believe, and yes, as long as it isn't an Anna Dressed in Blood type visitor I would be totally okay with it! LOL That said, Anna Dressed in Blood was one of my all time favorite reads this year and I can't WAIT to get my hands on a copy of Girl of Nightmares!! Fingers crossed I win this giveaway:) As for spiders, I think they scare me even more than Anna - even the small ones! I admit it: I'm a totally wuss when it comes to spiders and other creepy crawlies :D

  28. *inside - sudden beef* lol
House spiders don't bother me, we just gently catch them & release for outside. One friend of mine used to have a pet tarantula, I finally worked up the courage to carefully stroke it, but I couldn't bring myself to let it on my arm *ugh*!
