Book Wars a weekly feature hosted between two book review blogs – A Life Bound By BooksMuch Loved Books!

It’s a fact that book lovers know all about the covers of the books they covet. Often when a title is released here in the UK, it’s sometimes vastly different across the pond in the US.  So, Michelle from Much Loved Books and I have come together to create Book Wars to talk about the difference in covers when it comes to the US vs. UK versions.

We hope from time to time authors will chime in with their thoughts as well. We welcome everyone to comment and share their thoughts too! The more the merrier!

Before we get to this weeks Book Wars, we have a winner to announce. The Book Wars winner for Wait For You by J.Lynn is... the US Cover!!!!!! Thank you to everyone who voted for both books, and for picking a winner.

Also, there's a poll at the bottom of the post that we'd love to hear your input for the two covers! Tell us which one YOU love the most.

Synopsis: Keep Your Head Down.
Don't Get Noticed.
Or Else.

I'm Trella. I'm a scrub. A nobody. One of thousands who work the lower levels, keeping Inside clean for the Uppers. I've got one friend, do my job and try to avoid the Pop Cops. So what if I occasionally use the pipes to sneak around the Upper levels? The only neck at risk is my own…until I accidentally start a rebellion and become the go-to girl to lead a revolution...

About the author:

Meteorologist turned novelist, Maria's been writing fantasy and science fiction since she was bored at work and needed something creative to do. A dozen novels and numerous  short stories later, Maria's learned a thing or three about writing. She’s been on the New York Times bestseller list, won a half-dozen awards, and has earned her MA degree in Writing from Seton Hill University where she's been happily sharing her knowledge with the current crop of MFA students. She also enjoys creating new worlds where horses and swords rule, 'cause let's face it, they're cool, although she's been known to trap her poor characters in a giant metal cube and let them figure out how to get out. Readers are welcome to check out her website for book excerpts, free short stories, maps, blog, and her schedule at http://www.MariaVSnyder.com.

Let the Wars Begin: Its now time to make our decision, let's see what we think about the covers and pick our favorite cover.

Lisa This weeks covers for Inside Out... I've seen the US one in person and it really has never done anything for me. And then when it's side by side - in graphic form - with the UK cover, there's no doubt in my mind that I'd without a doubt pick up the UK cover over the UK in a heart beat.

There's something about the UK cover that I love. I think it has something to do with the symmetry of the pipes the character is crouching down in. I think it also has to do with the light affects. It is in it's own way kind of beautiful.

So with that, the UK gets my vote this week. What are you thoughts? Let us know below.
Michelle This is such an easy decision for me this week. My vote has always been, and will always be the UK edition. While I think the US cover is OK, I think the UK not only reflects the book better, but is more appealing to the eye. The cover adds to the mystery of the story and also Trella’s home, giving you a hint to the way she lives but not giving it all away. My vote goes for UK this week, which one gets yours?

  1. UK edition, hands down! The face on the US cover isn't how I picture Trella.
