Is their love strong enough to keep them together?

Review: 4.5 Stars - Inside Out is the third book in author Lia Riley’s Off the Map trilogy. Sadly, this is the conclusion in Talia and Bran’s story, and I was very sad to see them go yet the author did a pretty wonderful job in wrapping up all the pieces of the story from start to finish.

I have LOVED this trilogy from the first time I read the synopsis of the first book Upside Down. Then reading about these two characters who are so layered with issues and pain from their past you just can’t look away as they come to terms, often stumbling down their own rough path.

These books are filled with flawed characters and the emotions you’ll feel while reading them from beginning to end will be strong. You will come to love these two and care about them… I know I did and as said above I really hated saying goodbye.

Talia and Bran have each left their mark on me, there’s no doubt about that.

And I was happy to see where Riley would take her characters’ and how their story would turn out. The only issues I had with this title were the following –

             1. There were often times where parts of the story felt a bit slow. Nothing too bad.
             2. Then there were times with it felt rushed, where I felt there could have been a bit more detail put into certain pieces of the story.
            3. And the third was and this is all me… it felt short. I didn’t want the book to end and while I was reading I had assumed that when I was at 90% that I still had more story to read, yet I was faced with a sample for the first book!! This is a pet peeve of mine and I felt a little ripped off.

The writing was pretty great, other than the few spots that felt slow or the parts that felt rushed, however please remember that I was reading an ARC so these issues could have been taken care of in the final draft.

The characters felt like those who I met from the beginning, so I have to commend Riley for keeping her characters and the story fluid.

In the end I loved it. If you had to ask me to pick a favorite of the three, I’m not sure that I could because there’s just so much to love about each of these three books. Bran is without a doubt male character to add to those who will go down in the book boy friend hall of fame and Talia is a female character who is relatable in many levels and surprising in the next.

Riley is an author to keep a close eye out. She’s one of those authors who I’ve added to my auto buy list. She writes it, I’ll read it and you shouldn’t pass her books by. Fans of strong characters that have issues in a contemporary setting, who are of the “New Adult” age range, will love these books just as I have. If you’re looking for a great trilogy, look no further and go start reading today! Enjoy!

About the Author:

Lia Riley writes offbeat New Adult Romance. After studying at the University of Montana-Missoula, she scoured the world armed only with a backpack, overconfidence and a terrible sense of direction. She counts shooting vodka with a Ukranian mechanic in Antarctica, sipping yerba mate with gauchos in Chile and swilling XXXX with stationhands in Outback Australia among her accomplishments. When not torturing heroes (because c'mon, who doesn't love a good tortured hero?), Lia herds unruly chickens, camps, beach combs, daydreams about as-of-yet unwritten books, wades through a mile-high TBR pile and schemes yet another trip. She and her family live in Northern California.
