Check out my review for: Upside Down (Off the Map #1)

NOTE: This is a "New Adult" novel. Due to mature content this title is recommended for ages 17+
Synopsis: It was only meant to last the summer . . .

Talia Stolfi has seen more than her share of loss in her twenty-one years. But then fate brought her Bran Lockhart, and her dark world was suddenly and spectacularly illuminated. So if being with Bran means leaving her colorless NorCal life for rugged and wild Australia, then that’s what she’ll do. But as much as Talia longs to give herself over completely to a new beginning, the fears of her past are still lurking in the shadows.

Bran Lockhart knows that living without the beautiful girl who stole his heart will be torment, so he’ll take whatever time with her he can. But even though she has packed up her life in California and is back in his arms for the time being, she can’t stay forever. And the remaining time they have together is ticking by way too fast. Though fate seems determined to tear them apart, they won’t give up without a fight—because while time may have limits, their love is infinite . . .

Review: 4.5 Stars - Sideswiped is the second title in the Off the map trilogy by author Lia Riley. This book is the continuing story as we follow the lives of Talia and Bran as they navigate their relationship and lives as their college careers come to an end. The future for these two is up in the air and it’s only a matter of time before they figure out what paths to take… together or apart.

WOW, where to start? Well, the first book was pretty amazing and I couldn't wait to read Sideswiped to find out what was about to happen next. Talia and Bran haven’t had the easiest of lives; they have baggage and troubles that they carry with them. The whirlwind that was created between these two as they navigated a friendship was bumpy and rough and as a reader you didn't know how they’d come out and make it to survive on the other side.

And as their lives begin to finally come together questions are asked and some answers aren’t always what either of these two characters wants to hear. Also, these characters have a magnetic pull for each other. Riley has written some amazing characters that are so made for each other that you know just it deep down.

The road might have finally smoothed and the ride they are taking sunny and bright but you know there’s something major that’s about to change, there’s an undercurrent in Riley’s writing and storytelling that you find yourself waiting for the other shoe to drop. And drop it does!

There’s a somewhat explosive moment for Talia and Bran that Riley has built slowly and you can’t look away from. You know it’s going to be huge and when it finally hits you can’t help the heartbreak that follows while at the same time you can’t help but wish for better things to come.

I love these two characters and their story and while I couldn't wait to read Sideswiped to find out what was going to happen next, I now I can’t wait for the conclusion for Talia and Bran in Inside Out… because the ending of Sideswiped comes with a sneak peak of Inside Out… um, I have a theory and I’m freaking out! I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!! Seriously fellow readers, I can’t wait!

I highly recommend this trilogy to everyone who loves a wonderfully written “New Adult” contemporary title with characters full of flaws, tons of swoon-able moments and a love that’s bound by fate. A seriously great read! Lia, I NEED Inside Out! Pretty please!!!

About the Author:

Lia Riley writes offbeat New Adult Romance. After studying at the University of Montana-Missoula, she scoured the world armed only with a backpack, overconfidence and a terrible sense of direction. She counts shooting vodka with a Ukranian mechanic in Antarctica, sipping yerba mate with gauchos in Chile and swilling XXXX with stationhands in Outback Australia among her accomplishments. When not torturing heroes (because c'mon, who doesn't love a good tortured hero?), Lia herds unruly chickens, camps, beach combs, daydreams about as-of-yet unwritten books, wades through a mile-high TBR pile and schemes yet another trip. She and her family live in Northern California.
