Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!!

FORM IS NOW CLOSED THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED!

Just wanted to say that this might be my last, quick post before Christmas. Things are getting down to the wire and all around our place here and what little time I had over the last couple weeks is totally gone now. That's how it is each year right about now. I just wanted to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays! I've really enjoyed getting to know some of you and I'm looking forward to, not only getting to know each of you better, but getting to know more of you - my fellow bloggers/bookies in the new year.

With the new year comes a contest here and I'm still looking for people to help me out. You can earn an extra entry and it's REALLY easy to do. The contest is open INTERNATIONAL!!! If the Book Depository ships to you, your free to enter. Follow the link and scroll down in the post to find the quick and easy form to fill out. By filling it out, and answering one question you'll earn an extra entry. One per person please.

Extra entry for up and coming contest!!

I hope that everyone has a great time over the next couple weeks. Have fun with family and friends. Eat, drink and be Merry!! I hope you all get some great things from Santa!! :o) Looking forward to seeing and hearing all about your holidays and telling you all about ours here. I'll see you all after Christmas. Merry, Merry to everyone.

Quick update...

Hey guys! Things have been slow around here for a couple weeks. Mainly it's because of my dad rehabing after his full knee replacement. I've been driving him to and from 3-4 appts a week and I stay there while he's at therapy. It usually takes over 2 hours and is pretty boring. Yeah, I take books with me, but you can only stay sitting and reading in those horrible Dr. office waiting room chairs for so long. He's doing so much better, which is great. He still has a ways to go yet, but he's making his way through things.

Then on top of all that, it's a busy time of year without helping him. I don't think I'll be around much until after the first of the year. The hubby has off the week between christmas and New Years, so I'm sure we'll be going to the movies, hitting up sales, etc. just spending some time together.

I wanted to do another contest for the holidays, but just didn't get a chance to set it up. Not even sure what books you guys would love to win. So, I'll have one right after the first of the year and wanted to give you guys all a chance to let me know what books you'd love to win. I'll make it all worth your time. If you fill out the form below you'll get an extra entry into this next contest. Like the idea? The contest will be open INTERNATIONAL! Yep, you heard that correct! If The Book Depository delivers to you, then you can enter. One extra entry per person please. Please don't leave your email address in comments. It's a privacy thing for your safety. If you have any questions, please let me know!

30 August 2009

Well, it's way to hot here. Almost 110 outside. YUCK! I hope it cools off soon. I'm sooo looking forward to winter.

Tomorrow morning I head out to pick up my best friend from the airport. Should be a great time with her here. I can't wait!

And last but not least. I'm STILL having trouble with my comments here. My friend knows so much more about HTML then I do, so while she's here I have plans on having her check to see if she's able to fix whatever is wrong. *fingers crossed* she see's exactly what the trouble is.

Heading out to finish laundry, cleaning and getting ready for our guest to arrive....

Update...

Reading has been super slow for me the last week or so. I just don't have much time since my best friend will be here in a couple days, and were getting things ready for a yard sale and then we have plans to re-do a couple rooms. One thing I'm really excited about is a HUGE bookcase. I've run out of room from the bookcase I got just about this time last year for my birthday, so this year I've made plans to have a nice and large bookcase built to one of my walls. It'll be floor to ceiling and should be about 8.5 feet tall by 6.5 feet wide. There should be over 20 shelves which will, in the end be the home for all my many books and maybe even my dvds. I'm so excited I can't wait!

I just wish all this could have been done before my friend gets here, but it'll have to wait until right after she leaves. There's just way to much painting to do and with the heat here we have to wait to get started on the refab projects. It'll be nice to have the new bookcase (squeee!), some new paint, a total closet overhaul, new blinds, ceiling fan and maybe even a wood floor for one of the rooms were changing.....and depending on money we might even do a few other things but that's a wait and see for the time being.

Needless to say with all this my reading time has been a few mins here and there. I keep getting books in the mail, this week I have already gotten 12 and want to read so badly and I'm sad to say that I can't read anything else until I finish the ones I have going.

So, that's why it's so slow around here. I know it's a busy time for most as school has just started or is about to start again and summer ending and all. With that I don't feel as bad for my lack of updates. I'm off to finish a few things around here before I get ready to tackle another project. Stay cool and happy reading!

My Ratings

When I review I rate from 1 to 5 stars, 5 being the highest rating. I review based on many different things from the writing, to the story - to the characters and how I can relate to them or how they are developed. I also review based on if an author has worked their magic and was able to draw me into a story so deeply that I don't want to put the book down. If you would like me to review a book, please contact me or view my Contact Information and Review Policy for further details.
