Book Wars a weekly feature hosted between two book review blogs – A Life Bound By Books & Much Loved Books!
It’s a fact that book lovers know all about the covers of the books they covet. Often when a title is released here in the US, it’s sometimes vastly different across the pond in the US. So, Michelle from Much Loved Books and I have come together to create Book Wars to talk about the difference in covers when it comes to the US vs. UK versions.
We hope from time to time authors will chime in with their thoughts as well. We welcome everyone to comment and share their thoughts too! The more the merrier!
Before we get to this weeks Book Wars, we have a winner to announce. The Book Wars winner for City of Bones By: Cassandra Clare - THE NEW COVERS - is..... the US!!! Thank you to everyone who voted for both books, and for picking a winner.
Also, there's a poll at the bottom of the post that we'd love to hear your input for the two covers! Tell us which one YOU love the most.

Synopsis: He’s the most dangerous man she’s ever met…and she’s falling in love with him.
Madison Frost is desperate to escape her life. Daughter of a prominent businessman, she has everything a girl could ask for. Except for a family who’s present in her life, and anyone to talk to outside the four walls of the prison she calls home. Madison dreams of one day leaving her life behind. She never thought being kidnapped is how it would happen.
Now she’s being held captive by a man who’s as frightening as he is sinfully gorgeous. Enormous, muscular, and filled with secrets, the man they call Ghost is an enigmatic mercenary, and Madison is trapped with him. She doesn’t know who hired him or why, but the more time she spends at his mercy, the more she realizes he’s not what he seems. Beneath his rough exterior lies an unexpected gentleness and a heart as broken and battered as her own.
But as Madison lets down her walls, Ghost holds tight to his, hiding secrets that could destroy everything.

Let the Wars Begin: Its now time to make our decision, let's see what we think about the covers and pick our favorite cover.
Lisa I love this book!! And I have no idea how I found this alternate UK cover, but I managed to stumble across it awhile back when I was looking for books to feature on Book Wars.
When I saw it I knew I had to schedule a week to feature this amazing book.
So, the US cover is simple, but so striking when you see it in person. The blue and red really jump off of the shelves. And it does fit the story perfect!
And then this hidden jem of the UK cover I found is also pretty amazing, but... I like the idea of not knowing what "Ghost" looks like. It makes him that much more of a shadow who stays hidden while working his jobs. And while I DO like this UK cover, I have to vote for the US one because to me "Ghost" will always be one of those mysterious characters that you can see, but has a haze around them to keep them from being seen too clearly. And I like it that way because it fits him perfectly.

Michelle This is a book I had not heard of before, so it's the first time I am seeing these covers and reading the synopsis.
This is an easy pick for me this week. The USA cover looks simple and although I think it would be perfect on another book in a different genre, I don't think it fits the story for this one.
The UK not only appeals to me more, but it also has the advantage of having a hot guy with a tattoo.....I'm really approving Lisa's latest picks for Book Wars.
