"Waiting On" Wednesday is an event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. The purpose of this weekly event is to spotlight a soon-to-be-released book that you are very much anticipating. "Waiting On" Wednesday will also give bloggers an opportunity to share ideas for our TBR lists.

Three books this week. Sometimes it's hard just to choose one.

Title: John Belushi is Dead
Author: Kathy Charles
Publisher: Simon & Schuster, 320 Pages (August 24th 2010 - republished)
Preorder here: Amazon, Borders, Barns and Noble, The Book Depository

Synopsis: Pink-haired Hilda and endearing punk Benji, both seventeen, have an obsessive hobby—they haunt the places where Hollywood celebrities have died.

In rundown Echo Park, once the hub of the movie business, they find the squalid apartment where a second-rate silent movie star stabbed himself to death with nail scissors. Its current tenant is Hank, an old man with a mysterious past.

While Benji dives deeper into the cult of celebrity death, Hank and Hilda make an unlikely pair. Then Jake the screenwriter turns up. What’s his story?

Sounds like a quirky read, one that I'm looking forward to. What about you guys? Anyone else looking forward to this one or think this sounds like a good read?

Title: Girl Saves Boy
Author: Steph Bowe
Publisher: Text Publishing, 288 Pages (August 30th 2010)
Preorder here: Amazon, The Book Depository, Text Publishing

Synopsis: The first time we met, Jewel Valentine saved my life. Isn’t it enough having your very own terminal disease, without your mother dying? Or your father dating your Art teacher? No wonder Sacha Thomas ends up in the lake that Saturday evening…

But the real question is: how does he end up in love with Jewel Valentine? With the help of quirky teenage prodigies Little Al and True Grisham, Sacha and Jewel have a crazy adventure, with a little lobster emancipation along the way. But Sacha’s running out of time, and Jewel has secrets of her own.

Girl Saves Boy is a hugely talented debut novel, funny and sad, silly and wise. It’s a story of life, death, love… and garden gnomes.

As soon as I read about this one, I knew I had to add it to my must read/wish list. I really can't wait to read it. Anyone else agree? What do you guys think?

Title: The Ivy
Author: Lauren Kunze & Rina Onur
Publisher: Greenwillow Books, 320 Pages (August 31st 2010)
Preorder here: Amazon, Borders, Barns and Noble, The Book Depository

Synopsis: When Callie arrives for her freshman year at Harvard, she encounters her three vastly different roommates, new friendships, steamy romance, and scandalous secrets.

Sounds interesting - I mean anything with steamy romance AND scandalous secrets? Anyone else ready to read this one?
