Title: One Foot in the Grave (The Night Huntress, Book 2)
Author: Jeaniene Frost
Publisher: Avon, 384 Pages (April 29, 2008)
From: Purchased from Amazon
Synopsis: You can run from the grave, but you can't hide . . .
Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She's still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.
Being around him awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline kick of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head—wanted: dead or half-alive—means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard she tries to keep things professional between them; she'll find that desire lasts forever . . . and that Bones won't let her get away again.
Review: 4.5 Stars – One Foot in the Grave starts off 4 years after the end of book 1 and pretty much just dives right in. The second in the Night Huntress series shows just how much Cat has grown.
The author has perfected Cat’s witty and sarcastic tone. Her inner banter was even more amusing then the first book. All characters have evolved amazingly well from the first book and you can almost see further growth ahead for the next books in the series. There is just the right amount of action, romance and humor that make this series a great one.
Cat and Bones have some great chemistry that I look forward to reading more in the books to come. If you haven’t started this series yet, you don’t even know what you’re missing. Be sure to pick up all 4 books while you’re out, with this series you’ll want to be able to dive right into the next book each and every time.
