It’s a fact that book lovers know all about the covers of the books they covet. Often when a title is released here in the UK, it’s sometimes vastly different across the pond in the US. So, Michelle from Much Loved Books and I have come together to create Book Wars to talk about the difference in covers when it comes to the US vs. UK versions.

We hope from time to time authors will chime in with their thoughts as well. We welcome everyone to comment and share their thoughts too! The more the merrier!

Let the Wars Begin: Its now time to make our decision, let's see what we think about the covers and pick our favorite cover.

Lisa Well, this is a first for me, which makes this weeks cover an even MORE difficult choice than ever before. Why you ask? Well... I'm not really a fan of either cover.

There are small things I like about both but nothing really jumps out to me to give me a favorite of the two. However that's not what Book Wars is about, there must be a winner. And the one that has a slight edge over the other would be the US cover. The main thing I like about this one is the stars. Otherwise is just feels kind of fuzzy. I won't even get started about what I'm not liking when it comes to either of these two, other than to say they just don't do it for me.

And I HATE that! So, since I have to choose one over the other my vote goes to the US cover.

Michelle Looking at these covers side by side it has made it even more clear in my mind which is my favourite. When I first saw the covers I fell in love with the USA edition, and even now it’s still my favourite out of them both. The UK one doesn't seem to grab my attention, and it reminds me of another book. The USA cover is eye catching, and really connects with the title. With the midnight like background with stars, the mist and the fire. It just fits perfectly and would definitely make me pick it up. Its a USA vote for me this week.

Lisa I LOVE these books and the one thing I LOVE about them the most is that the covers all fit together so well. The UK and the US books look so good on your shelves that makes it even harder to choose a favorite. BUT that's just what I'm going to do... and this week my favorite is - the US cover. Mainly because I LOVE Perry and we get a chance to see his character gracing another cover in this trilogy.

There are a couple things I love about both covers and one of the things is that they have the aether in the sky and that both give readers a hint to how wild their world really is. So, this week I've chosen the US cover.

So, now it's YOUR turn to choose a cover and vote for YOUR favorite.

Michelle While I love the cover for the SA one, I think I prefer the UK one this time. I love the colours of the blue and the purple, it just makes it so eye catching. I love the effect of the sky, and the silhouettes....basically this is an very pretty cover.

Lisa This is a MUST read YA trilogy! I LOVE these characters, their story and the journey that we follow along in such a unique setting and place that the author has created. And this is one of those sets of books that I'd LOVE to have both US and UK covers on my shelves... they are both just so amazing and eye catching. The colors of both versions... I LOVE them. Both!

The only major difference for me is one has Perry and the other features Aria. Being a HUGE fan of Perry, and look at that model that's depicting Perry! You can't look away. Well, I can't at least. And because of being a Perry fan I must choose the US cover. I love Aria and she's an amazing female character so the US wins for me this week by a very slight margin. This was another tough one that's for sure!

Michelle This is another series I need to finish, so I am going into this without knowing what happens in this book so I can't judge the covers by how relevant they are.

At first glance the UK cover is the first to catch my eye, but after having a better look at both of them my vote goes to USA.

I think the USA is more mysterious and better fitting to what I have read in the first book. I love the overall effect of this one more than the UK one.

Its a USA vote for me this week.
