Book Wars a weekly feature hosted between two book review blogs – A Life Bound By Books & Much Loved Books!
It’s a fact that book lovers know all about the covers of the books they covet. Often when a title is released here in the US, it’s sometimes vastly different across the pond in the UK. So, Michelle from Much Loved Books and I have come together to create Book Wars to talk about the difference in covers when it comes to the US vs. UK versions.
We hope from time to time authors will chime in with their thoughts as well. We welcome everyone to comment and share their thoughts too! The more the merrier!
Before we get to this weeks Book Wars, we have a winner to announce. The Book Wars winner for Firewalker (The Worldwalker Trilogy) by Josephine Angelini is...!!!!!! Thank you to everyone who voted for both books, and for picking a winner.
Also, there's a poll at the bottom of the post that we'd love to hear your input for the two covers! Tell us which one YOU love the most.

Synopsis: Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father.
To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings — and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father? In this breathtaking sequel to City of Bones, Cassandra Clare lures her readers back into the dark grip of New York City's Downworld, where love is never safe and power becomes the deadliest temptation.

Let the Wars Begin: Its now time to make our decision, let's see what we think about the covers and pick our favorite cover.
Lisa This week is an easy choice for me. The US cover. It's kind of magical and mysterious at the same time. I like the smoke and wind blown affect and look going on... and the colors chosen highlight even the darkest parts of this cover amazingly well.
Looking at it next to the US cover... it's just so blah and in so many ways doesn't fit at all. It feels more like an old tome of some short than fitting for this series.
So, the US gets my vote. Do you have a favorite? Tell us with a quick click below.

This is an easy choice for me this week. Looking at the UK cover I do prefer this colour to the first book, and while I do like the imagery in the star itself, I don't really see how the star relates to the story itself.
The US copy however is easily my first choice. I am in LOVE with this new design, from the model, to the hazy smoky background. I love how the runes and the stele play a role in this cover too, especially with them being a big role in the Shadowhunters lives.
It's a US win for me this week, which cover gets your vote?
