Synopsis: From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes the first in a dark, sexy contemporary trilogy.
Is she strong enough to trust the most dangerous man she’s ever met? And is he strong enough to let her?
How would I describe myself? Well, I’m Muse Harper. I’m a twenty-something painter who loves red wine, quirky movies, and men with a fatal flaw. But that was before I met Jasper King. He became my fatal flaw. Eight months ago, I had a choice to make—abandon everything I’ve ever known to protect my family, or stay and risk someone getting hurt. I chose the former. My plan was working just fine until I found out my father had gone missing.
That’s when I met Jasper. A bounty hunter with the eyes of a tiger and the nose of a bloodhound, he was supposed to help me find my father. What I didn’t know was that meeting him was no accident. Hunting people isn’t all that Jasper does. And helping me was only part of his plan. I just wish I’d found out sooner, before my heart got involved. But even then, I don’t know if I’d have done things differently.
Now, I have another choice to make—trust the man that I’m falling in love with and hope that he’ll do the right thing, or run as far away from him as I can get.
Review: 4.5 Stars - Strong Enough is the latest title in author M. Leightons new series – Tall, Dark and Dangerous. With each book being centered around a new couple, these books can be read as stand alone, however since I love this author so much I’ll still suggest you start with this book before the next one comes out.
Something I can always count on with this author is a strong story and even stronger characters all wrapped up in a nice bow. The bow being the writing. It’s also easy to fall in love with the characters from the first “meeting” and they quickly leave a mark on you. This and so much more was the case when it comes to her latest book.
Muse and Jasper each have secrets. Some are buried deeper than others and some fester and need to come out. Yet they are both running from their pasts for fear of more than just their safety. When Muse meets Jasper she’s bound and determined to hire him as a bounty hunter to locate and help find her father. Jasper is set in his ways and has an agenda that’s all of his own, yet he can’t help but question why he’s drawn to this woman unlike anyone he’s met before.
The two are forced to work together to find Muse’s father while trying to figure each other out along the way. Truths, the past and the future are just some of the things they each must face. There’s also the mutual attraction they share that muddles things for the two. Which I’m not usually much of a fan of insta-love, however it’s more of an attraction burning under the surface that these two try to ignore.
And the steamy parts… WOW. *fans self* There’s lots of steam to their story and plenty of scenes to make readers melt. And swoon. And… yeah, melty, swoony, steamy parts. Lots of them. Jasper and his tiger eyes… he’s an Alpha male through and through.
There are pieces to their story that I was so not expecting. I love the unexpected when it comes to a book and the journey the characters are on. I didn’t see a few things coming and was shocked to say the least. There were many emotions I had while reading as well. Another score for this reader!
The story ebbs and flows so quick that readers can without a doubt take this title on in one sitting and wonder where their time went. I tried to savor it, because I love a great book from Michelle, yet I couldn’t find out what was going to happen fast enough.
There’s one reason why I didn’t give this book 5 stars and that’s because there was a point in the story that I felt like I had missed something or a piece of the story was missing. Or maybe it felt rushed? I’m not sure but it was enough to make me wonder, and it stuck with me long after reading.
Other than that, I loved it! Michelle has yet again written a wonderful story and characters that I just couldn’t get enough of. I’m serious when I say that this author is one of my favorites. She’s without a doubt a must read for me and an auto buy that more readers shouldn’t be passing up.
This is a ‘New adult’/Adult title due to themes so please keep that in mind before purchasing. I highly recommend anything and everything Michelle writes, so if you are new to this author, give this one a try. If you’ve read her previous books than you know that this is one you should jump on right away! Enjoy!
